Ashley Norton

Ashley is an instructor and choreographer specializing in jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and lyrical. Her passion for dance became apparent at the young age of two and has not stopped since. She began her formal instruction at the age of four, competing at age six, and has been with Dance Works since its inception in 1997. Throughout her years of competitive dance, Ashley attended many workshops including Tremaine, CO. Dance, Hollywood Vibe, Monsters of Hip Hop, Jump, and NYCDA. She has also received instruction from many dance greats such as Chris Judd, Barry Youngblood, Dave Scott, Tyce Diorio, Wade Robson, Brian Friedman, and Doug Caldwell. Ashley received several scholarships from Tremaine Dance Convention, CO. Dance, and Hollywood Vibe. She was also chosen to attend the Clear Talent Agency Audition in Orlando, FL. After graduating from Siegel High School,  Ashley attended MTSU where she majored in Theater. She continued at Dance Works as a teacher and choreographer teaching students of all levels in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, and hip hop. During this time she also danced and choreographed for MPAC and pursued a career in acting and modeling. Ashley has choreographed for many schools including Siegel Middle School, Blackman High School, Smyrna High School, and is the current choreographer and coach at Siegel High School. She has also choreographed at the collegiate level for the UT Chattanooga Sugar Mocs. Additionally, her choreography with the Dance Works competition teams has won many accolades throughout the competition circuit and national titles including Grand National Champion and Best of the Beach in 2016. Ashley believes that the greatest gift a performer can have is to evoke emotion within their audience. She hopes to inspire her dancers through this belief to grow not only as performers but in all aspects of their life.
